Andy Tenbult – organisor of Hockey Camp Europe – was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. At the age of three he put on a pair of skates and stepped onto the ice. The chemistry between the two has lasted a lifetime. Andy started playing hockey when he was four years old. He always played in teams where teammates and opponents were older than he was. He did everything to develop and improve himself, his teammates and his team. Team goals meant as much to him as individual goals. Andy played top level hockey in Canada until age 18. A year later the possibility presented itself to cross the Atlantic and play in Europe. He seized this opportunity and landed in the Netherlands, the country of his ancestors.
He continued his hockey career there; the first 17 years as a player, later as a coach, gathering five national championships and seven national cup wins. After his playing career, Andy remained working where he felt most comfortable: in hockey. He loves every minute on and off the ice and many people who have experienced his drive, will be able to confirm that. Andy has made his mark in hockey world. Until this day Andy has been a household name for many hockey clubs, players, experts and fans in the Netherlands and elsewhere. Andy’s message is short and powerful: My life long goal has always been: make everyone better. If you do this, YOU will be better.
In 2015, after working at various hockey camps in Canada, the United States, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Sweden, Andy decided to start his own hockey camp in the Netherlands. His was and still is to combine the best of all these camps in an annual camp with national and international coaches and to continually strive for improvement using developments in health and sports areas for players of all levels.
